How this static USA home survey site handles information.
Last updated: August 13, 2026. This Privacy Policy describes how Expired Home Survey (“we,” “us”) thinks about information in connection with expiredhomesurvey.com. The current Site is a static, client-side website. That architecture limits what we automatically receive, but it does not remove your responsibility to share only information you are comfortable placing in a browser or sending by email.
This policy covers the home page questionnaire, the multi-step survey wizard, featured home pages, the cart, contact form, subscribe form, and unsubscribe form. It does not cover third-party sites you reach through social sharing buttons, icon fonts, or web fonts loaded from public networks.
Forms may ask for name, email, U.S. state or region, ZIP code, property type, occupancy, year built, bedroom or story counts, appliance condition, HVAC service windows, water-heater age bands, maintenance narratives, and message text. We ask these questions because a home survey about appliances and upkeep is useless without context: a vacant Phoenix hacienda in July is not the same file as an owner-occupied Brookline colonial in January.
On this static build, validation and success messages run in your browser. Survey answers are not posted to a remote database by the pages themselves. If a representative later emails you, they will only have what you chose to send through a follow-up channel or what you pasted into a message.
The cart uses your browser’s local storage to remember package names, quantities, prices, and image paths. That data stays on your device until you check out (which clears the cart), remove items, or delete site data. We do not consider local storage a “sale” of personal information. Anyone with access to your logged-in browser profile could see the cart, so do not store sensitive notes in package names on a shared computer.
This Site does not ask for Social Security numbers, payment card PAN/CVV, bank routing numbers, driver’s license images, or precise GPS. We do not publish a telephone number or street address for our organization, and we do not require yours. If you type a phone number into a free-text box anyway, treat it as information you volunteered in a comment field.
The Subscribe page lets you request updates about appliance recalls that commonly affect U.S. households, seasonal HVAC maintenance reminders, and expired-listing survey tips. The Unsubscribe page lets you say you no longer want those messages. Both forms validate the email format in the browser and show a confirmation. A representative should honor unsubscribe requests when they operate an actual mailing list. You can also use any “unsubscribe” link inside a future email if one is sent.
The custom scripts in this project prioritize local storage for the cart. Browsers may still store standard cache files for CSS, images, and fonts. If a hosting provider later adds analytics, that provider’s notice should be added here. Today’s pages do not embed an advertising pixel in the HTML we authored.
Residential photographs illustrate kitchens, laundry rooms, mechanical work, and house exteriors. They are not used to identify a particular occupant. Do not upload other people’s private interior photos into a contact message unless you have the right to share them.
If you ask to be contacted, a representative may use your email to: (a) explain a survey package; (b) clarify appliance or HVAC questions; (c) confirm an unsubscribe; or (d) respond to a terms or privacy question. We will not use a featured-home narrative as if it were your private inspection report.
We do not sell mailing lists as part of this static site. We do not share cart contents with advertisers. We may disclose information if required by law, to protect the security of users, or to a successor that continues the Expired Home Survey project under similar rules. Licensed inspectors or contractors you hire independently are not given your data by this website automatically.
Browser storage lasts until you clear it. Emails you send to hello@expiredhomesurvey.com are retained only as long as needed to answer you and to keep a record of unsubscribe requests, unless a longer period is required by law. You can ask us to delete correspondence by using the contact form and stating that request clearly.
No website can promise perfect security. Because checkout is client-side, we reduce the risk of storing card data—we simply do not take cards here. You should still use a current browser, avoid public computers for forms, and be cautious of phishing emails that pretend to be Expired Home Survey.
The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. Home surveys and listing documentation are adult activities. If you believe a child submitted a form, contact us so we can ignore that submission.
Depending on your state, you may have rights to know, delete, or correct personal information, or to opt out of certain sharing. Because this static site stores cart data on your device, you can exercise a practical “delete” right by clearing local storage and cached files. For email you sent us, use the contact form to request deletion or a copy of that correspondence. We do not use your survey answers for cross-context behavioral advertising in this build.
California residents: we do not sell personal information as that term is commonly understood, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising through scripts we authored. Nevada residents may submit an opt-out request by email even though we do not operate a sale of covered information here. Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, and similar state laws: you may appeal a privacy request decision by sending a follow-up email explaining why you disagree.
Content is written for U.S. housing. If you visit from another country, you understand that any follow-up email may be handled in the United States. Do not submit information you are not allowed to transfer under your local law.
Pages may load Open Sans from Google Fonts and Font Awesome from a public CDN. Those vendors receive standard server logs such as IP address and user agent when your browser requests the files. Social share links send the page URL to the chosen network only after you click.
We do not use the questionnaire to make automated legal or similarly significant decisions about credit, housing eligibility, or insurance underwriting. Package prices shown in the cart are published estimates, not personalized risk scores.
We will post updates on this page with a new date. Material changes to how email lists are run should also be mentioned in a future newsletter if one exists.
Privacy questions: hello@expiredhomesurvey.com or the Contact Us form. We do not publish a telephone number or physical mailing address on this Site. If a regulator requires a postal path later, we will add it here without converting the Site into a phone directory.
Use of the Site is also governed by the Terms of Use. Package descriptions on home detail pages explain what a survey request is about (appliances, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or expired-listing documentation). Those descriptions are educational and do not expand this Privacy Policy’s collection practices.
Documenting a home’s maintenance honestly protects households. Keeping only the data you need protects them too. That is the standard we try to meet with a static, client-side survey site.
